The diminishing right to an Oral Hearing under the EU Migration & Asylum Pact & Procedural implications of an adversarial procedure before the IPAT

The first IACBA CPD event of the new year took place on 23rd January 2026 in the Gaffney Room and Online. The session ran from 4:30pm to 5:30pm and featured insightful contributions from Anthony Lowry BL and Callie Nic Rallaigh BL, who discussed the diminishing right to an oral hearing under the EU Migration and Asylum Pact and the procedural implications of an increasingly adversarial process before the IPAT. The event was attended exclusively by members and provided valuable analysis on current developments in migration and asylum procedures. One CPD point was awarded to those who attended.
